What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is the assessment, treatment and management of muscle, joint, tendon, ligament and fascial pain and dysfunction. thus affecting movement and mobility.  Myotherapists utilise a range of treatment techniques to restore and maintain the normal movement and mobility of the body’s soft tissue structures. Muscular pain and dysfunction can be caused by trauma, overload or misuse of muscles arising from occupation (sitting at a computer), or sporting/recreational activities.

How and what is treated?

Myotherapists use various soft tissue manipulation techniques during treatment such as trigger point therapy, dry needling, deep tissue massage, hot and cold therapies, passive/active muscle stretching and cupping. The care does not end when you leave the room as corrective/rehabilitative exercises or postural re-education may be given so as you can continue your recovery at home.
